New Official $120 Pokemon Release Confirmed for 2027

Pokemon is all-encompassing, and fans are never short of new releases to look forward to across various mediums. Sometimes, though, it's a look back to the series' past that brings the most interest to Pokemon fans. A new $120 release is taking fans back to Generation 5 in a surprising way.

Pokemon Generation 5 began in 2010 with the launch of Black and White (although they didn't arrive in North America until 2011), followed by sequels Black 2 and White 2 in 2012. Direct sequels within the same Pokemon Generation are unusual, and it still makes Gen 5 stand out from the others well over a decade later. Both Pokemon Black and White take place in the Unova region, which takes inspiration from New York City's metropolitan area. Players choose from either Hilbert or Hilda as their protagonist, depending on whether they choose to play as a male or female. Now, after 15 years, Hilbert is making a return.

Pokemon teases multiple new LEGO sets planned to release in 2027 during a panel at PokemonXP, hinting at a plethora of new LEGO creatures.

Coming via Sideshow, a new Hilbert and Victini figure is available for pre-order right now from Kotobukiya. The Japanese figure manufacturer has officially confirmed the new 1:8 scale design, which pays tribute to Pokemon Gen 5 's male protagonist and a fan-favorite 'mon from the same games. The figure is based on a "newly commissioned illustration by series artist Hitoshi Ariga," with Hilbert posing as he looks at his Xtransceiver.
