Grand Theft Auto 6 is likely to be the biggest video game launch of the year and probably of the decade. So it makes sense that Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of GTA maker Rockstar Games, is going to use its golden goose to help promote and market other games, like NBA 2K27.
On August 25, 2K released a trailer for NBA 2K27‘s first season. It includes looks at some of the cosmetics players will be able to unlock in the basketball sim’s first online season, which starts tomorrow alongside the early-access launch of NBA 2K27. The trailer then teases the start date of season 2, October 16. And then, surprisingly, the trailer teases NBA 2K27‘s third season, which appears to be GTA 6-themed. Here’s the clip from the trailer, courtesy of Ben Videotech on Twitter:

In the clip above, we see the now-iconic birds and neon palm trees featured in some of the first GTA 6 artwork ever released by Rockstar Games back in 2023. We also hear police sirens in the background as well, which seems like a big nod toward the open-world chaos often found in Grand Theft Auto games.
We don’t have an official start date for this third, GTA -themed NBA 2K season, but based on how long past seasons have lasted, season three is likely to start on or around November 27.
