Exodus' New Trailer Confirms 2027 Release Date

Exodus, the upcoming sci-fi romp from Archetype Entertainment, finally gets a firm release date. As per a new trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Exodus is set to launch on April 7, 2027.

This means we're just a little over seven months away from playing Exodus ourselves. It comes as fans have waited patiently to play Archetype's debut title - one which wears its Mass Effect inspirations on its sleeve.

This Exodus trailer was just unveiled during Gamescom Opening Night Live. It shows us more of Jun, the player character, and Salt. Yes, she's the talking squid.

Here, we see Salt operating a mech. She is what is referred to as an "awakened", so she isn't the only talking non-human in the game. Just like any other companion, Jun can have full conversations with Salt.

Exodus got a lot of attention right out of the gate because developer Archetype is made up of former BioWare talent. For that reason - and the fact that this is another party-based action RPG in a sci-fi setting- many are seeing this as a spiritual successor to Mass Effect. While those are high expectations to meet, what we've seen so far has largely impressed would-be players.

The extended gameplay reveal for Exodus wows with its combat, but now, I want to see more about the roleplaying - and female Jun.

However, one reveal last month disappointed fans, as Archetype confirmed that the character creator isn't much of a character creator at all , leaving us playing as a pretty generic-looking Jun .
