A pretty rancid week for celebrities somehow just got even worse. Following the announcements of the deaths of both Bonnie Tyler and Tim Curry , it has now been announced that legendary Optimus Prime voice actor Peter Cullen has also sadly passed away aged 85.

First reported by TMZ , the voice actor's agents have explained that Cullen passed away at his home in Los Angeles on Wednesday surrounded by his family, though a cause of death has not yet been revealed.

"Peter Cullen passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family — and held in the hearts of his many friends and countless fans worldwide. His family asks that you honor his remarkable legacy by serving your communities and leading others with compassion, integrity, and loyalty and always remember 'be strong enough to be gentle.'"
