How to Lower Brightness on Macbook Keyboard

Most modern MacBooks come with backlit keyboards that make it easier to type in dimly lit rooms or at night. While the feature is useful, you won't always want the keyboard backlight at its highest level. Lowering the brightness can help save a bit of battery life, and it can also be more comfortable on the eyes in darker environments. If you don’t know where to find the setting, here's how to lower the keyboard brightness on a Mac.

Find out how to check your PC's RAM and memory usage on Windows to see if an upgrade is needed.

Adjusting your MacBook's keyboard brightness only takes a few clicks. Start by opening the Control Center from the icon in the top right corner of the menu bar. If you already see the Keyboard Brightness control, you can simply drag the slider left or right to lower or increase the brightness.

If the option is not there, click Edit Controls at the bottom of the Control Center. This will open the list of controls you can add. Find the Keyboard option and click the + icon. You can choose to add it to either the Control Center or the Menu Bar. Once it's added, you will be able to adjust your keyboard brightness directly from there whenever you need to.

You can also adjust your MacBook's keyboard brightness through System Settings. Go to the Apple menu in the top-left corner of the screen and select System Settings. Next, search for ‘Keyboard’ and open it.
