The Triggerfish is one of those creatures, especially if you don’t know which bait to use or where to look for it. To catch the Triggerfish, you will first need to leave the Lighthouse island by completing the Who Stole My Beer quest, kill the Spider Crab, and get the boat keys from the Lighthouse Keeper. Then take the boat to the Forest island.
Once you get there, you will need to go to the shop and buy the Fishing Rod. The Crab Fishing Rod from the Lighthouse won’t work for catching Triggerfish. You will also need the Beginner Lure, which is the only bait that works for this fish. It costs just $3, and you can use it to catch several other creatures in Forest as well, including Perch, Pike, and Goldfish.
Once you have the right fishing rod and lure, go to the water and cast your line. Wait for a fish to bite, then reel it in. You may need to try a few times because the Fishing Rod and Beginner Lure can also catch other creatures. Keep fishing, and you should eventually get a Triggerfish.
