No, not the Grand Theft Auto 6 Netflix stream. What are you talking about? Forget that.

Over here at Polygon HQ, we're all in on the biggest video drop of the year: the premiere of Point It Out!, Polygon’s new weekly news series. Hosted by known video god Simone de Rochefort and Editor-in-Chief Matt Patches, PIO! is a video game news show for people who already know the news — or think they do. This week, we're tackling introductions and Gamescom 2026. Miraculously, Mario's butt is only mentioned once.

Our episodic mission for Point It Out! is to pull the biggest stories circulating through the world of gaming out of the discourse cycle, then take a closer look to make sense of the surrounding culture. We want to take points, make points, win points, and say the word “POINT” as often as possible. We want to bring on expert guests whenever we can remember to book them and keep reinventing the format as we go. Each episode absolutely has some kind of quiz/game element at the end so one or both of us can accumulate POINTS that obvious matter and will be tallied at the end to declare a winner. (We also believe the current loser should wear a dunce cap — check back in future episodes for the reveal.)
