Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave doesn't launch until September 17, next month, but spoilers are spilling out online after an alleged games journalist broke the review embargo on 4chan.
"Any q's for a drunk vg journo who's got 90 hours in the game? bc, yeah, drunk," they said. We won't embed the leaks here or discuss any spoilers, but OP uploaded photographic evidence of their playthrough to back up their bold claim.
These photos, and the gameplay details shared throughout the thread, have broken containment, hitting Reddit, X, and ResetEra, where fans are now combing through every little detail the anonymous poster shared. So, if you want to go into Fortune's Weave blind, it might be time to mute some keywords or unplug from social media altogether until launch.
Breaking an embargo is one thing, but breaking the embargo on a Nintendo game? It's not the smartest move. Of course, since this is 4chan where everyone hides under the guise of anonymity, it's worth taking the whole thread with a grain of salt. But the photo evidence certainly lends credence to their claims, featuring everything from in-game menus to cutscenes and dialogue pop-ups.
For an idea of what to expect if the anonymous poster is discovered, Nintendo completely cut ties with a Portuguese outlet in 2020 after a reviewer leaked images from Pokémon Sword and Shield leading up to its launch. The outlet, FNintendo, also severed ties with the reviewer.
Further back, in 2019, Nintendo announced that it was targeting 4Chan and Discord users who leaked unrevealed Pokémon from the game's strategy guide weeks ahead of launch.
