After an incredibly successful launch, Roco Kingdom is expanding its borders. Developed and published by Morefun Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, Roco Kingdom launched in China this March and racked up 15 million players within a day — an impressive feat. The creature-collecting, cozy game is preparing for its global launch soon, but before then, Morefun Studios is hosting a closed beta test this October.
Set in the continent of Carosia, Roco Kingdom gives players the magical, cozy experience of their dreams. In its open world, players are tasked with collecting adorable creatures known as Jinies, which can be found across several biomes and habitats. Once caught, players must train them so they can excel in battle.
This sounds a lot like Pokémon, of course, but there's more to Roco Kingdom than that. As players explore Carosia, they can build a home and decorate it to their heart's content. There are also farming mechanics, which are often appreciated by cozy game aficionados. There are several multiplayer features, allowing players to battle their friends or hang out. Together, they can go on an adventure on the back of a Jini or simply stay at home placing decorations and harvesting crops. Significantly, the game has no pay-to-win elements.
Gamers worldwide looking to join the 15 million players who have already begun their journey in Roco Kingdom can pre-register for the closed beta with an email address. Once done, they can increase their chances of getting access by inviting friends to pre-register as well.
