Buying COD: MW4 On Xbox Comes With A Special Perk Not Available On Other Console Platforms

Microsoft is encouraging people to buy the Xbox edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 by offering a special perk that players can't get on other console systems.

People who preorder any edition of MW4 on a Microsoft Store--including Xbox or PC--will get a $5 digital credit back. Customers on PC will get a pop-up notification from the Xbox app within 35 days of MW4's launch on October 23 with their Xbox gift card; a similar pop-up notification will appear on Xbox as well.

The fine print states that the promotional gift credit must be redeemed by December 15, 2026, and used within 90 days of redemption. $5 isn't a whole lot, but it's also not nothing. In this economy? We'll take it.

While the $5 credit is exclusive to Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on PC, Microsoft and Activision are bringing back the "loyalty discount" for the game's $100 Vault Edition on all platforms.

To be eligible for a 10% discount on MW4's Vault Edition--bringing the price down to $90--players need to have met a few requirements. First, they can get the discount if they own and have played any edition of the games listed below, or if they claimed and played any of those games via PlayStation Plus. Additionally, existing Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and PC subscribers are eligible for the discount if they played one of the titles.

The fine print also states that the loyalty discount only applies to preorders on the same platform account where they owned and played one of the qualifying titles.
