Genius Group Targets Bitcoin Treasury Rebuild 5 Months After Selling Off

Genius Group, a company that operates a bitcoin and artificial intelligence (AI) dual treasury strategy alongside its core education business, plans to acquire $827 million in bitcoin treasury and $800 million in AI treasury by its fiscal year 2031, the firm said in a Thursday (Aug. 27) press release.

Genius Group plans to fund the acquisitions with a five-year capital plan that leverages the company’s $1.2 billion shelf registration that was declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on July 18, 2025. The company will issue a publicly registered Perpetual Preferred Security (PPS) to fund its dual treasury, according to the release.

The final details and timing of a proposed offering of Genius Group’s PPS are subject to confirmation, pending the company’s discussions with investment banks, per the release.

Genius Group CEO Roger James Hamilton said in the release that the company’s plan is designed to harness what it believes to be a “generational cycle.”

“With $106.6 million in net assets, no third-party debt and both AI and bitcoin entering what we believe is their next growth cycles, the conditions are ideal to deploy permanent capital at scale,” Hamilton said.

This announcement came about five months after Genius Group said it sold the remainder of its bitcoin treasury to help repay in full the company’s $8.5 million in debt.

When making that announcement in an April 1 press release, Genius Group said the company would “recommence building its bitcoin treasury when it believes market conditions are more favorable.”
