Fasset Earns Unicorn Badge After US$68 Million Funding Round

Fasset has raised US$68 million in a Series C funding round led by Japan’s SBI Group, valuing the stablecoin neobanking platform at US$1 billion.

The investment expands Fasset’s existing relationship with SBI Group, which includes a partnership with its international remittance arm SBI Remit.

SBI Group views Fasset as a bridge between Japan and high-growth markets.

The companies plan to develop stablecoin settlement infrastructure across Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

The round follows a US$51 million Series B completed in May 2026, bringing Fasset’s total funding this year to US$119 million.

Fasset will use the new capital to expand Own Network, its regulated financial infrastructure spanning more than 100 banking corridors.

The network connects banks, payment companies, liquidity providers, custodians and settlement networks.

The platform enables customers to receive, hold, transfer, spend and invest across currencies and asset classes.

Stablecoins support settlement in parts of the network without requiring customers to manage the underlying infrastructure.

Fasset will also invest further in agentic artificial intelligence systems for cross-border banking and tokenised asset infrastructure.

It currently uses AI to route transactions across payment and settlement systems based on cost, speed and availability.

“The next phase is about any-to-any banking. Any person to any person. Any asset to any asset. Any rail to any rail, anywhere. We built Fasset to address a simple problem: access to financial opportunity still depends too heavily on where someone lives and the financial system available to them.

The banking system is broken. It’s not enough to build another financial front on current rails.
