31,06,827 cars were registered in India from Jan 2026 to July 2026, of which 1,84,428 were electric cars.
Telangana recorded the highest EV penetration at 15.1% (18,005 units), followed by Chandigarh at 13.9% (1,963 units) and Delhi at 12.3% (16,476).
Tata Motors maintained leadership, selling 72,270 electric cars, accounting for 39.2% of total e-4W sales.
Mahindra & Mahindra and JSW MG Motor remained the strongest challengers, with 42,838 and 38,199 units, respectively.
The top 3 OEMs contributed over 83% of total e-4W sales. The top 10 states together accounted for 65.8% of the total electric car sales.
