Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially the highest-grossing Marvel movie at the US box office after dethroning Avengers: Endgame

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now the biggest Marvel movie at the US box office, knocking Avengers: Endgame down to second place.

Per Collider, Brand New Day has earned $855 million at the domestic box office, and is set to pass Avengers: Endgame, which has an overall domestic gross of $858 million, by midweek.

Endgame still holds the title for highest-grossing Marvel movie of all time, as it has a global gross of $2.8 billion. Brand New Day currently sits at $2.2 billion.

The new film, which takes place four years after the events Spider-Man: No Way Home, sees a pretty lonely Peter Parker obsessively check in on Ned and MJ while doing his daily Spider-Man duties. When a new, seemingly undefeatable threat hits New York City, Peter is forced to confront his past... and maybe finally heal. Brand New Day has a 90% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, and a nearly perfect 98% audience score.

We may not see Spidey again until Avengers: Secret Wars, given that it's the Secret Wars comic book arc that introduces the alien symbiote known as Venom and gives Peter that snazzy black Spidey suit (that we haven't seen since Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3). Though, he could always pop up in Avengers: Doomsday, especially given the fact that nearly every Marvel hero to ever exist is making an appearance.
