NBA 2K27 Is Crossing Over With GTA 6

NBA 2K27 is setting up a crossover with Grand Theft Auto 6, as confirmed by an unmistakable tease from the former's latest trailer. The connection is unsurprising at the corporate level, while its timing signals internal confidence in GTA 6 hitting its release date.

The tease comes directly from 2K, appearing at the end of the official Season 1 trailer published on August 25 alongside the company's NBA 2K27 Season 1 announcement. Season 1 begins August 26, coinciding with the start of early access for owners of higher-tier editions of the game, ahead of the full launch on September 4. A new NBA 2K HQ companion app is supporting this year's release as well.

The final moments of the second NBA 2K27 trailer ditch the basketball presentation for imagery much closer to Vice City. A palm tree graphic taken directly from the first-ever GTA 6 promotional artwork officially shared by Rockstar appears as seagulls and police sirens sound in the background. The shot then shifts to a pair of arcade cabinets bearing the 2K and Rockstar Games logos, with their screens advertising "Season 3" in a purple-and-pink style strongly evocative of GTA 6. The details of what the season will include have not been confirmed, leaving fans to speculate about Vice City-themed courts, cosmetics, and unique event opportunities.
