Gears of War: E-Day Villain Finally Revealed

Gears of War: E-Day has shared a new campaign trailer full of brutal action and given a first look at a powerful new Locust villain. Gears of Way: E-Day is loading up for its October 6 launch, as expectations for the ambitious prequel keep rising among fans. Its latest trailer sets the tone for the Gears of War saga's defining, yet most mysterious chapter.

As its name suggests, Gears of War: E-Day focuses on Emergence Day, also known as the time when the Locust Horde first attacked the surface of the planet Sera. Though fans have never played the events of E-Day, the series has referenced it in every mainline Gears of War entry since day one. In this way, Gears of War: E-Day is the origin story of one of Xbox’s most renowned franchises. Now, a new trailer delves deeper into Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago’s first encounter with the Locust 14 years before the original trilogy.

The first Gears of War: E-Day Beta weekend is over, and adding this staple Call of Duty mechanic is actually a great gameplay shake-up.

During Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2026, developer The Coalition unveiled a new two-minute-long story trailer for Gears of War: E-Day , featuring snippets of cutscenes and in-game footage. Right off the bat, the trailer shows a new leader of the Locust, posing as the game's main antagonist. The character seems to be relentless in its goal of eradicating humans and can be seen pouring Emulsion on a person mercilessly until they melt.
