Kia’s new EV3 is among the most affordable electric vehicles in the US, starting at just $29,890. In Canada, it’s the lowest-priced EV.
The EV3 is finally coming to North America. In the US, the 2027 Kia EV3 starts at $29,890, making it not only Kia’s most affordable EV, but one of the cheapest in America.
Kia’s entry-level electric SUV is available in five trims: Light, Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT. The lowest-priced EV3 Light FWD model uses a 58.3 kWh battery, providing an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 221 miles.
The Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT are powered by a larger 81.4 kWh battery that delivers up to 321 miles of range on a single charge.
Front-wheel-drive (FWD) models have a single electric motor producing 201 horsepower. Upgrading to all-wheel drive (AWD) costs an extra $3,200 and adds a rear motor for a combined output of 261 horsepower. The GT variant adds a bit more power with up to 288 horsepower.
All EV3 variants come with a native NACS port, so drivers can charge at Tesla Superchargers without a separate adapter.
The 58.3 kWh battery can charge from 10% to 80% in 29 minutes using a 350 kW DC fast charger, while the 81.4 kWh battery takes slightly longer at around 31 minutes.
In Canada, the 2027 EV3 starts at CA$36,995, making it the lowest-priced EV on the market, Kia said.
It’s available with the same Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT trims and battery options. 4 kWh battery delivers up to 517 km (321 miles), Kia estimates.
