The Odisha government on Friday approved 14 investment proposals across 10 districts, involving a cumulative investment of Rs 2,780.1 crore and employment potential of 14,104 as part of its efforts to accelerate industrialisation under its Samruddha Odisha 2036 vision.

The proposals were cleared at the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg.

The projects span food processing, agro and food processing, textiles and apparel, chemicals, pharma, medical devices, electronics, steel and ferro alloys, steel downstream manufacturing and infrastructure.

Among the largest employment-generating proposals, the SLSWCA approved a Rs 251.45 crore readymade garment manufacturing unit to be set up by Sahana Clothing Company Pvt Ltd in Dhenkanal district. The proposed knitted baby and kidswear unit is expected to create 5,104 jobs.

The food-processing sector is set for a significant expansion, with Haldiram Snacks Food Pvt Ltd proposing a Rs 500 crore snacks and baked-products manufacturing unit with employment potential of 800.
