Final Fantasy 7, Witcher 3, And More: Everything To Expect From The Big Gamescom Showcase

It’s about to be a big week in video games. Grand Theft Auto 6 is getting its first (officially sanctioned) gameplay presentation on Netflix, Pokémon’s annual World Championships will no doubt give folks a new glimpse of what’s in store for the series, and kicking things off is Gamescom, the Germany-based trade show where thousands of people gather to see and play what’s next in video games. Starting off the show is Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live event, which showcases games both being exhibited on the show floor and beyond. Here’s a rundown of what we know will be at the show and where you can tune in to watch it live.

Opening Night Live will air tomorrow, August 25, at 11 a.m. Pacific Time / 2 p.m. Eastern Time. The show will last about two hours and can be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube.

The show will last around two hours, and though some games have already been confirmed to appear, the presentation also typically has World Premieres that aren’t announced prior to the showcase.

Keighley and various partners have confirmed a handful of games that will be at the show. Some of the headliners include:

Outside of official announcements, some rumors are circulating around the internet about other games we might see at the showcase. Ratings board listings and an Instagram story have folks convinced a Lego-themed Cities: Skylines city builder may show up at Opening Night Live. Meanwhile, leaker Nate the Hate has Ori fans wondering if the series might be making a long-awaited return under a new developer instead of original team Moon Studios, and some are speculating that we might see a teaser for Hogwarts Legacy 2 following its official announcement .
