1001 Threads of Mizan: The First Preview

GTA 6 isn’t even out yet and 2026 has already been a great year for video games. From this spring's outstanding Resident Evil Requiem to surprises like Denshattack, Mina The Hollower, and other games like 007, Life is Strange Reunion, Marathon…you get the point. This year has been awesome, so the bar is a little high for me when it comes to playing something original from a brand new studio like MBC. 1001 Threads of Mizan is a completely original title from a new studio led by a plethora of industry veterans who are looking to make something that not only brings the world and stories of One Thousand and One Nights to an action-adventure game, but also create something that plays as fun as it looks. And from my short time with iit, fighting two bosses and zipping around on a magic carpet, I can definitely see the vision – and in an era of games that are constantly redefining what it means to be great, 1001 Threads of Mizan is looking pretty promising.

From the very start of my demo it was obvious that 1001 Threads of Mizan’s developer MBC Game Studio is taking its source material seriously in an effort to make something that’s unique and interesting. After the intro cutscene, there was barely any chatter between the three main characters, and most of the world-building and story was handled by a narrator, Shahrazad, who is the actual storyteller in the book One Thousand and One Nights that 1001 Threads of Mizan is based on.
