007 First Light Just Made a Strong Case for Leaving Multiplayer Out of Single-Player Games

IO Interactive recently revealed in a blog post via the studio's official website that 007 First Light has sold over 4 million copies. Not only does this make 007 First Light one of the best-selling games of 2026, but it's also IO Interactive's fastest-selling game ever. In an age where it feels like every AAA release is trying to shoehorn multiplayer or live-service elements into what would be best left as a single-player title, 007 First Light is proof that a game can be a dedicated solo experience and make plenty of money.
